Accessibility Statement

Care that everyone can reach.

Pine Vision Care is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards across our Philadelphia and Newtown Square clinic websites.

Last reviewed: May 14, 2026

Conformance Status

Partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

"Partially conformant" means that most of our site meets the standard, but some parts of the content do not yet fully meet it. We are actively working to close those gaps.

What We Do

Measures we take to support accessibility.

Pine Vision Care takes the following technical and editorial measures across both clinic websites:

  • Semantic HTML — proper heading hierarchy, meaningful page landmarks, and ARIA labels where helpful.
  • Keyboard navigable — every interactive element can be reached and operated by keyboard. A "Skip to Main Content" link is provided at the top of each page.
  • Alt text on every image — descriptive alternative text for content images, null alt attributes on purely decorative ones so screen readers skip them.
  • Accessible forms — explicit label tags on every field, and validation errors are announced through aria-live regions so assistive technologies catch them.
  • Contrast and scalable text — text and background colors meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Font sizes use scalable units, so you can adjust text size in your browser settings.
  • Respects reduced motion — animations and parallax effects honor the system-level prefers-reduced-motion setting. If you have this enabled, motion is paused or reduced site-wide.
  • Proper ARIA on interactive widgets — mobile menus, accordions, and toggles use aria-expanded and aria-controls so screen reader users know when content is opened or closed.

Technical Specifications

The technologies we build with.

Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies to work with your browser and any assistive technologies or plugins you have installed:

  • HTML5
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

Known Limitations

Where we're still working.

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed here.

Third-party embedded tools. Our online scheduler, contact form provider, and any future widgets follow their own accessibility standards. We work with vendors that commit to WCAG-aligned design but cannot guarantee perfect parity. If you encounter a barrier in the scheduler or any other embedded tool, please call us directly at the location nearest you and we will book your appointment by phone with the same care.
Older blog post imagery. Some older blog post images may have generic alt text. We are actively reviewing and improving these descriptions across our 200+ image library.

Assessment Approach

How we test for accessibility.

  • Self-evaluation — the site team reviews all pages against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA checklist.
  • Automated testing — we use tools like the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool to flag violations during development.
  • Ongoing improvement — accessibility is reviewed every time we ship a new page or major feature.

Feedback

If something isn't working for you, tell us.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Pine Vision Care website. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers — and if the website is not working for you, please call either location and we will be glad to help you directly.
